Office Policies

New Patient

New patients are required to benefit from a complete physical examination. An urgent first office visit is permitted before the patient’s physical examination is scheduled. We can frequently work in a new patient for an urgent visit the same day but established patients have priority. Routine office visit can be scheduled within one week. Cancellations are required no later than 24 hours before the scheduled visit. Exceptions are made for unusual circumstances. Please refer to our “No Show” Policy.

Phone Calls

In the case of a medical emergency, dial 911 immediately. If you need to address any matter, please call during business hours at (352) 243-3555 for the Clermont office, or (863) 420-8384 for the Davenport office. The staff and if possible, the doctor, will be able to assist you. When calling after hours please dial the respective office line, or call Heart of Florida Medical Center at (863) 422-9171. After hours service charges may apply. Leave a message explaining your problem and the doctor will return your call. Please note we do not schedule appointments or process routine prescription refills after hours.

No Show Policy

Due to an unusually large number of patients who do not show for their appointments and who do not call in advance to cancel those appointments, we have been forced to institute a “no show” policy.

This policy does not apply to patients who call and cancel their appointments 24 hours or more in advance of their scheduled visit, or to patients who have sudden emergencies less than 24 hours before the appointment.

Effective with the second and subsequent missed appointment, a charge of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) will be charged to the patient’s account. This charge is not billable to the insurance company and it will be due before future services can be rendered.

Please note that it has been and will continue to be our policy to call and confirm appointments with our patients the day prior to each of their visits.


All emergency calls should dial 911 directly. This includes life-threatening emergencies such as chest pain, severe shortness of breath or trauma. Do not drive yourself to the hospital or have someone else drive you; the ambulance is always safer and equipped to stabilize you until you are treated by a doctor. Do not come to the office. Go to the nearest hospital emergency room or call 911.

For non-emergency urgent matters, call the office, leave a message and the doctor will be given your message either personally during business hours or by voice mail after hours.
